Born on October, 22 1734 in Oley, Pennsylvania Daniel Boone would grow up to be an icon of American pioneering life. This soon to be legend was famous for discovering a trail and leading an expedition through the Cumberland gap and to the far west. Being a daring and adventuress man Boone was one of the first to settle in Kentucky in a settlement he named Boonesborough. Also this early celebrity spent a good portion of his life in North Carolina. Boone lived in the Yadkin valley part of this great state for almost 20 years.

Daniel Boone was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania on February 11, 1735 and died on September 26, 1820 at his son's house in Missouri. Boone's parents were Squire and Sarah Morgan Boone. He had 10 siblings who were Sarah, Israel, Samuel, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Mary, George, Edward, Squire, and Hannah Boone. Daniel's wife was Rebecca Boone.
